“Why did you name your company “Elephant Networking?”. I get this all the time and I love this question!
My father is a pretty talented guy! He can play the piano like nobody’s business, he can whoop a lot of people in chess and he likes to draw. I was a 10 pound, 1 ounce baby (poor mama!) and I guess that’s why when he drew…he depicted us as a family of elephants! While brainstorming for a name for my company, I wanted something marketable and memorable. I had some candidates like “PRO Group” and “PowerNet” but I wasn’t in love with them. I ended up focusing on my tagline and this came naturally “think big. connect big. grow big.” and all of a sudden the elephant made it’s way into the room! I loved it right away and the more I thought about it the more sense it made. Elephants are strong, breathtaking forces to be reckoned with. They never go unnoticed. They can be extraordinarily gentle, tender and caring. Elephants are symbols of luck and good fortune and they are known, of course, for their incredible memory. There is a scene in the movie “The Jungle Book”, which is one of my favorite kiddie movies, where they show a tribe of elephants walking and just like a little network of their own, they were all connected. They walked with the their trunks holding on to the tails in front of them. This is their version of holding hands and that is why I chose “Elephant”.
I want the members of Elephant Networking to feel connected, supported and strong! I wish everyone good fortune and of course I feel everyone is memorable. Oh and the last reason I went with “Elephant” is quite simply…I couldn’t think of a single reason not to!
